​​​​​The N.C. Department of Transportation recognizes the importance of providing intercity bus connections between urban and rural communities throughout North Carolina. ​NCDOT provides funding for 13 routes that offer daily service for North Carolinians and provides connections to a larger national intercity bus network.​​​​

NCDOT continues to expand and improve its intercity bus program each year to better serve the residents of North Carolina.​

Beginning July 1  

• High Country Gateway - Expanding service from Winston-Salem to Charlotte
  
• Mid-State Express - Expanding service from Fayetteville to Raleigh
  
• Pine Line - New service connecting Raleigh, Fayetteville and Lumberton to South Carolina and Georgia
  
• Rockfish Run - New service between Raleigh and Norfolk, Va., via Greenville, N.C. ​
  

​​​Greyhound Lines and Sunway Charters operate the routes providing safe, reliable and comfortable transportation in coach buses that include restroom facilities and are ADA accessible.​
